Don't worry guys, nothing scary. We're not a military outfit and won't be issuing you all with a billion rules to follow, this is just basics and things that everyone will be doing anyway, however I thought it best to be put into writing so that our backs are covered and nothing is in doubt.
All Northants Giants members will be required to "sign" this post by replying and saying that they have read it all. New recruits will have to do this before they're granted entry to the team.
~~~~~~~~~~
New Recruits:
New recruits will be recruited on a probationary basis and will be granted full membership status after being an active member of the team for two months or two events - whichever is longer. During this time you will be added to the "Team Profile" section of the homepage, but you will not be given the password to the team section on this forum until you've passed this probationary period. It is your responsibility to remind a moderator when this period has been completed - who will then double check and issue you with the password.
You will be required to submit to me the following information so that I can add you to the team profile:
Age:
Sex:
Location:
Markers:
Along with a picture of yourself, preferably in paintball gear for use on the website.
The below rules will apply to you during this period as it does afterwards.
Expectations of you:
- No swearing on the forum.
- Conduct yourself in a helpful and friendly manner.
- Be active on the forum, we want team members to be a part of the community here.
- Attend events regularly, you're not expected to attend them all but it's no good joining the team and never playing.
- If you intend to come to an event make sure you add your name to the relevant list in the relevant thread in the events section.
- If you have added your name to an event list, please let the team know if your plans change and you're unable to make it.
- Read through all areas of the forum and add any content you think will be useful for other team members.
- Spread the word about Northants Giants where you can, this is a place for people who have no one to play paintball with to join a community and gain just that. The more the merrier!
Expectations of you at an event:
Fair play is a must if you want to be a member of Northants Giants and that means:
- No wiping, if you think you have been hit and are unsure ask a marshal to check. If there is no marshal available then give the enemy the benefit of the doubt and leave the field.
- No overshooting, one ball break is enough for an elimination, that's all you need.
- Wipe yourself off properly at a respawn, this will prevent people mistaking left over paint as hits and stop any confusion. Help others on the team by wiping them if you notice any unwiped paint.
- Keep your cool, if you suspect any foul play, over shot, or are annoyed for any other reason then have a word with one of us and we can sort it out for you. Do not lose your cool and shout and or swear at people on the field.
- If you accidentally overshoot someone, shoot someone who has their hand up because they have already been eliminated or whatever then simply just apologise to them. It happens and we've all done it. An apology goes a long way.
- At any event remain approachable and friendly and help out wherever you can.
- Listen to the team's on field commander and follow in game orders where possible. We are a team, and we play like one!
~~~~~~~~~~
This list will be updated from time to time and you may be asked to re-sign it to say that you have read the additions.
As said there's nothing in here that you're not already doing so nothing to worry about!
Please do not reply to this thread with anything other than a short message saying you have read and agree to it.
If you have any questions / suggestions regarding this thread PM me or another moderator, and we will then discuss it in the moderators section.
Failure to comply with these simple rules will result in warnings and/or dismissal from the team.
Thanks guys.
