All sounds good lads but for me it's about woodsball going on missions and the fun of the game speedball just doesn't do it for me so patches I'm all for and maybe some kind of uniform some thing that says to people there's the giants at big games we need to stand out so everyone knows who and what we are the BEST

I have done all DW since PaintFest as well as being rather active on different forums for a while now. At the last DW conversation in the base came around to where we all came from, so I obviously said Northants. Rather quickly then dawned on them that I was MorphMann from N.G..
The team's name is out there for one reason or another (in a good way), and so I think we should go for jerseys so that the our paintball playing brother's can put names to face's.
Obviously though if you are wearing such, then you should remember whatever you do will reflect peoples thought's of the team.

Well said guys. Sounds like jerseys are in the picture. I'll make a thread regarding this and get numbers down. We can then go ahead and make polls on colour themes etc.
Glad to hear the name is getting about I have no doubt that it has.

www.outpostuk.co.uk/sponsorship.phpThis is one of the companies that wants to sponsor new teams. Anyone fancy pitching the team to them? LiPs is always a good 1 to go for as they are at most events and I know they do paint deals (my mate used to play for the Leicester wild cats) MonkeyBoy ======================== 1 Case, 1 Kill

Generally, there is no such thing in paintball. A VERY small number of teams have true sponsorship in one form or another, but what most people call 'sponsorship' is simply 'support' deals where you get a discount on goods and put a company's logo on your shirts; discounts you can get without putting other names on your kit tbh.
It's one of the biggest pitfalls that new teams fall into, thinking they have to have 'sponsorship' to be taken seriously, when it's probably fair to say the opposite is true.
It's only a positive if you manage to get something worth having and of a unique flavour. Just having a support deal from the same shops that every other newish team has the same deals from doesn't add anything, and can actually just be like sticking a big sign up that a team is new and inexperienced in how things work.
If you want to know how NOT to do it, then search around for stuff on Army of Too Many. They arrived, got loads of sponsors and logos all over themselves, went trying to build their own community as a short cut to a high profile, and tried to run a first game all high profile. Everything they did was a disaster.
The way to do things is to get out and play over a season or two and make a name for yourself on the field and in the pub, not by sticking logos all over and trying to run before you're walking.

Tack that was probably the soundest thing I've heard since I even started playing this amazing sport. Thank you for getting rid of the rubbish that other teams (as mentioned in your message) have crammed into my head. I get eager sometimes and not always with the right info/details. Please will you all bare with me if I get a bit excited and waffle nonesense I'm glad I came to this team and forum MonkeyBoy ======================== 1 Case, 1 Kill

Yep I'm with Tack.
At the same time, I am open to sponsorship of some kind, but it would have to be a real head turner and a proper deal. Getting 15% off from Lips or something doesn't interest me as I think we would get that or more anyway.

Absolutely Nath, you can get the deals just by being organised and making your purchases in bulk, I.e collect all money and buy tickets in one hit, paint in one hit, etc.
A vendor will see one large purchase rather than x small purchases from individuals and you stand out in their minds more. BZ paintball have always looked after us and support the game by travelling to all the main events. LiPS are also great. Build a relationship with these guys and use them because they are good, not just because you are tied in for a 10% discount.
Last year we had a fantastic deal from LiPS on Dark Sports paint but we had some horrible batches. We were patient with them fir a few games but the paint didn't get any better. Since we weren't tied in with any support deals it meant we could move over to Draxxus paint from BZ and we've used it ever since, because it's been consistently excellent.
That's an example of how it isn't the vendor, but rather a product, that's an issue. If you're 'sponsored' then you'd be stuck using paint you weren't happy with.
Paint is the main thing you'll use regularly. LiPS now do GI paint and that is also very good and they always do very good deals, in truth better prices than the Draxxus/Pure, but it's not always right to just go on price.
