Whats peoples views on the eclipse Etha? im looking at that currently? Seems like a reasonable priced and performance marker? Is it any good? (pros/cons?) Quoted from the team talk section. Do any of you with experience of this marker (Slam Duncan ) have any advice for Saj?

My two pence, again, it's all personal pref, but since you asked www.planeteclipse.com/site/paintball_markers/ethaPros: - You can fire this faster in semi auto than the Phenom can fire in full auto, and at the major events it's usually semi auto only, which will effectively turn your Phenom into an A5 for those events. - Very reliable - Very Lightweight - Performance upgrades, ie: new bolts - Cosmetic upgrades www.planeteclipse.com/site/products/emc_etha_rail_mounting_kit- Easy to maintain - Can be used for any game type - Has excellent reviews and reputation Cons: - Is the most basic marker Eclipse make - You'll have to buy a new hopper as this doesn't have a cyclone system like the Phonom has (I bought my Halo B2 hopper for £20 and it's great) - Because they are relatively new you can buy imo better markers (Ego 08/09) second hand for roughly the same price as these are second hand still. However Eclipse will stop making spare parts for Egos of that age soon, where as this will be fine. Also Duncan was firing one of these at you at the Killhouse, so you probably saw how fast they can fire.

Thanks nate for moving this over; I should have done that myself from the start - doh. Problem with me is I dont have an understanding of which series or tourni markers are better than the next and merely look at the price and can only guess! :S Like I dont know where the GEO stands in comparison to the various models or how a Etek compares or even an EGO! hence my confusion

Geos and egos are pretty much equals from what I know, both have different valve systems though. Etek's are sort of the mid range and the Etha being the entry marker. The Etha is bloody good though, I am sure anyone will tell you the same.

I really like mine, however I have had one issue with it where it was failing to fire on the first shot. I think this was caused by a damaged poppet return spring and using useless batteries. Should all be sorted now, eclipse are pretty good if you do have any issues.
The trigger isn't as good as high end markers, it has a bit of sideways play, but for the money you can't beat it. I can easily shoot 15bps in semi.
It's easy to work on, cleaning the eyes and the bolt is all it normally needs, the SL3 reg is straightforward to service.
Other than that it is not as efficient as guns like my etek, but still works pretty well, looking at about 7-8 pods on a 68/4500 tank. about the same as a other 'proper' spool valve guns.
Incidentally if I ever get my GEO sorted I'll probably be selling my etha. Who would have thought getting a replacement spring would be so damn hard?!

SP1 is always a great buy. If you want a LOT of marker for the money though, look for a Vanguard Creed. They can be had for around £170-£180 now and come with all the tricks, including full bore sized barrels, a LiPo rechargeable battery good for 100,000 shots and one of the nicest OLED boards you will see on any marker.

Or between each other? sorry for my n00b questions :S Louder for one, my etek 4 has more of a crack to the shot that the etha or geo, but it is massively more air efficient, with the techt hush bolt I get almost 12 pods out of a 68/4500 fill. the construction of the AM version is better, it really feels well made because everything is aluminium, although it is a bit heavier.

seems like the LCD screen may be bit damaged; he wrote "half the screen on the back works".
hmm. I may just be tempted to go for something new after the debacle with the phenom as at least that offers some guarantee with repairs etc with the warranty.
Thanks nate for keeping an eye out for me..I think im going to sleep on this one for a while before I decide what to go for.
You still ok to loan me the a5 tomorrow? Hope thats cool? il bring my HPA again.
I think il get a box of paint from the site itself on the day - hopefully its not as bad as the sterling ones lol. Also il bring the samples I have for you to take a look.
