Yeah we have been talking about it, there are some ideas floating about but we haven't got too far with it yet. I'll post up the first design. It was just a mock of the first idea, and just that, an idea. Keep the ideas coming and I will try to get something done in photoshop so we have a few to play around with.

Haha I really prefer the colour one, but everyone else likes the plain one so far. But would be very difficult for a patch to be stitched like that anyway.

It needs to be basic for a patch what Nath has done will be great as a header but to complicated for a patch so here is what I had in mind when I had the idea some thing like this this is a very rough concept but gives you the idea.

What about this? If the text is too complicated for patchwork then I could always move it so it just has N on one side and G on the other. Embroidery machines are pretty good these days!

Some good designs there. I like the top colour one personally but also think the one with the rose in is pretty cool. Maybe see about getting Michael at Patchwerx to do rubberized versions which are very cool and dont stain as easy as embroidered ones?? My 2p worth from outside of the team edit: edited for my keyboard being a numpty!

If you want some finer detail then I wouldn't go for embroidered patches. Go for printed or rubber patches and you'll get the full detail of the design.
Most teams tend to go for the back patches for tac vests etc, have small patches to fit to things like UBACS shirts and vests, or just go for custom printed tops for use with pod packs.
Take your time in working out exactly what you want and get the design spot on or you will waste a lot of money re-designing and re-printing things in the long term.

Good advice Tack, thanks.
Definitely need to get a design we're all happy with, and not rush into getting the first thing we come up with. It's not like patches are a necessity anyway, but will be cool when we get them done.
Cheers.

Rubber Patches - www.facebook.com/patch.onkel - Bit more expensive, and come from Germany, but very nice Embroidered - www.e-atches.com - Some people quoted excellent service here and it also looked like they did printed so check with them first Printed - www.patchesdirect.co.uk - I have personally used these and the quality is good. However, Yvonne recently had some ill health and there were a lot of reports of slow orders and lack of communication. Again, check things are back to normal before ordering.
